Application of Vibroacoustic Effect in Surgery, Traumatology and Orthopaedy

Professor A.G. Baindurashvili and Engineer-Researcher V.A. Fedorov of St Petersburg Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education successfully applied VAT in surgical practice and traumatology for more than 8 years. They found that Vibro Acoustic Therapy is effective to enhance venous and lymphatic outflow, improve kidney function, restore organ innervation and normalize immune reactions.

The salient features of the study:

      1. Quick reduction of oedema, abatement or disappearance of related to it pain, owing to increased lymphatic and

      venous outflow.

      2. Accelerated regenerative processes illustrated by the example of chronic trophic ulcers healing in 1-2 months,

and also by callus formation within the normal timeframe in patients with osteoporosis, pancreatic diabetes and

      in elderly patients.

      3. Anticommisural effect – prevention of commissural formation in various tissues under the conditions of forced

long-term body or limbs immobility. With sufficient dosage and regularity of vibroacoustic exposure no callus

      formation was observed.

      4. Shortening of joint mobilization period after immobilization is taken off.; vibroacoustic therapy significantly

      accelerates complete restoration of mobilization.

      5. Complication prevention virtually no complications, owning to simultaneous enhancement of venous and

lymphatic outflow and improvement of local immune reactions.

      6. Improvement of patient’s health achieved by the application of vibroacoustic treatment on kidneys.

Source: vibroacousticresearch The Effectiveness of Vibroacoustic Apparatuses for Recovery of Physical Work Capacity in Highly Skilled Sportsmen Considering that in sportsmen the most resource deficit is suffered by the muscular tissue and kidneys restoring electrolytic blood composition, St Petersburg School of Olympic Reserve decided, for research purpose, to use vibroacoustic effect on the most tired muscle groups and kidney area. For this purpose, top skilled sportsmen, members of the Russian combined skating, cross-country skiing and biathlon teams were selected and divided into two groups, one of which was the control group and included 10

sportsmen and the other one was the experimental group with 20 sportsmen. The distribution was done by the table of random numbers. All sportsmen were masters of sport. The work was done in summer time of 2002-2003 and was based in Toksovo camp (St Peterburg). The training load was maximum: skiers covered 80-100 kms a day. Part of the route was done running and another part rollerblading in rollerdrome. Load conditions: daily 2-3 hours twice a day, excluding Sundays. The vibroacoustic resource support was used daily for 1.5 months. Daily dose included 1.5 hours on kidney area

and 40 minutes on muscle groups. Research was done in field conditions in poorly equipped accommodation. To evaluate effectiveness of the vibroacoustic resource support, all sport tests and research methods available in field conditions were used.

Conclusions: The results indicate quite a significant difference between the sportsmen of the control and the experimental groups, which on average totals 10-15%. The application of the vibroacoustic method in order to restore the sportsmen physical work capacity turned out to be very effective and was reflected in sports results.

      • Vibroacoustic resource support improves sports result without the use of doping and allows for complete withdrawal from this type of drugs.

      • Vibroacoustic resource support increases vital and psychological functions of the body.

      • Vibroacoustic resource support shortens the sportsmen recovery period after the physical activity.
