Abstract:

In this journal, Music and Medicine, the authors brief about the internationally recognized program, which addresses ongoing needs of patients and their caregivers across the continuum of their illnesses. The authors belong to medical family background. They have precisely explained about the importance of music therapy for treatment of variety of illnesses. Through their music and ability to describe the effects and impact of music with disordered patients, health personnel begin to witness the meaningful, soothing, motivating, and inspiring effects of live songs, guitar, and lyrical improvisations with patients and caregivers. The image of a music therapist offering supportive services through live, patient-centered music has a contrast with the scientifically-informed and technologically-focused oncology approaches, that are typically provided. To conclude, a focused research and meticulous methodologies in palliative care have changed the face of the way many researchers set out to understand and study those who are terminally ill.
