Abstract:
In this article the author discusses the researches that evaluate the effectiveness and safety of using music for preterm infants in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). She suggests that music therapy is a substantial and efficient nursing intervention for preterm infant in NICU. She highlights the published meta-analysis conducted by J.M. Standley who suggests that music therapy is safe for infants and avoid the use of radio music, musical toys, and live performances.
